This is a great rental house in beautiful Stonington, Maine. This classic Victorian house is situated in the village of Stonington with a great view of the Harbor. Sit on the lawn and enjoy views of the islands, tall ships, and lobster boats! Take a walk through the town and enjoy this wonderful seaside village. Stonington boasts casual and fine dining, many shops, numerous art galleries, and antique stores. Activities include a theater and live music. The home has 5 BR, 2 full baths, and 2 half baths, and two complete kitchens. The house is divided into two separate units that can be rented separately or together (see our huge discounts under the "rates and dates" link if you rent both units). The front unit has 3 BR and 1.5 baths, and the rear unit has 2 BR and 1.5 baths. Each unit of the house has a full kitchen with dining area, and a living room that overlooks beautiful Stonington Harbor and the islands. The rear unit even has a 12x16 play house that could also function as an artist's studio! We purchased this house in June 2003, and we have updated almost everything. The house has all new, high-quality appliances (washer/dryer [front unit], gas oven/range, refrigerator, and microwave). All bathrooms have been completely renovated. All beds feature new, pillow-top mattresses to ensure a restful night's sleep. The house has been repainted, and the living room and kitchen floors refinished. There is even a brand new furnace and central heat system as well as a new roof and new windows! During 2004-5 we completely renovated the rear unit (new kitchen, bathrooms, new sheetrock throughout, new wood floors, and new carpet!) This rental home will give you the comforts of a new house with the character of a 19th century New England Victorian.


The view of the harbor is the highlight of the house. Wake up to the views of the harbor and the islands to the south from the master bedroom of the rear unit (you can even sit in bed and enjoy the views of the boats going by Isle au Haut). Sit back and relax in the living room and watch the schooners go by. There are even glimpes of the harbor from the studio/ playhouse in the back yard.
The kitchen upgrades include a new gas oven/range, microwave and refrigerator. We added new Cuisinart cookware and a set of Caphalon knives. The kitchen in the rear unit has a new set of Henkels knives as well as other new amenities. We also have a new (2004) Kitchenaid mixer. We love to cook, so we equipped the kitchen with everything that we enjoy using! Your vacation home also has new linens and towels. We think it is one of the best equipped rental homes that you will find. There is even a DVD library for your enjoyment!

The rear unit even has a 12' x 16' artist's studio that could double as a playhouse for kids. The studio even has a view of the harbor!

Both units have full kitchen, living/dining room, sitting area overlooking Stonington Harbor, great location. Both units have all new appliances and mattresses as well as kitchens that are really well equipped! The front unit of the beautiful house was completely redone in 2003 and 2004 with new paint, renovated bathrooms, new windows, new roof, new appliances, refinished floors downstairs, and new furnishings. We completely renovated the rear unit during 2004-5. It was a complete renovation with new everything (new kitchen, new bathrooms, new sheetrock throughout, new sound-proofing between front and rear units, new wood floors, new carpet in bedrooms, new doors and windows, and even granite counter tops in the kitchen and upstairs bathroom!)
